Acrylic Fill In

Refresh your set every few weeks and keep it looking brand new.

From $42~45 to 60 minA fill-in restores your set to a freshly done appearance and gives you another 2 to 3 weeks of wear.

After 2 to 3 weeks of wear, natural nail growth creates a visible gap between the base of your enhancement and the cuticle. A fill-in appointment at Beauty Nails Spa closes that gap by applying fresh product over the new growth area, blending it seamlessly into the existing set. It is a faster, more affordable appointment than a full set and it extends the life of your nails by several more weeks before a full removal and fresh application becomes necessary.

Our Champaign clients who stay on a regular fill-in schedule tend to have the healthiest-looking enhancements because each appointment also gives the technician a chance to repair any minor lifting, thin out any overly thick areas, and reshape nails that have grown into a slightly different angle. We service both regular acrylic fills and gel or shellac fills, and we take the same care with preparation and sterilized implements at every visit as we do for a brand new set. If you would also like a color change at your fill, just let us know when you book.

Why you will love it

  • Extends the life of your full set without the cost or time of a complete redo
  • Covers the visible growth gap for a neat, well-maintained appearance
  • Opportunity to address any minor lifting or structural issues at each visit
  • Color changes are available at fill-in appointments
  • Regular fills keep nail thickness even and prevent product buildup over time
  • Consistent care from the same attentive Beauty Nails Spa technicians you trust

Who it is for

Fill-in appointments are for anyone who already has an acrylic, gel, or shellac enhancement set and wants to maintain it through the natural growth cycle. Staying on a 2 to 3 week schedule is the best way to keep your nails looking their best between visits, and it is the approach most of our regular Champaign clients follow.

What to expect

  1. 1

    Set assessment

We look at the condition of your existing set, noting any lifting, thinning areas, or nails that need reshaping before the fill product goes on.

  2. 2

    Surface prep

The existing product is lightly buffed at the transition line between the old enhancement and the new nail growth, creating a smooth surface for the fill material to bond to.

  3. 3

    Lifting and repair

Any nails with lifting at the edges are gently corrected. If a nail has broken, this step also addresses the structural repair needed.

  4. 4

    Fill application

Fresh acrylic or gel product is applied over the regrowth area and blended carefully into the existing enhancement so the join is invisible after filing.

  5. 5

    Shaping and smoothing

The entire set is refiled and shaped so all nails match in length and silhouette, and the surface is smoothed to a uniform finish.

  6. 6

    Color refresh and seal

Existing color is removed if a change is requested, and a fresh coat of your chosen color plus a top coat or gel seal is applied to complete the appointment.

Longevity and aftercareA fill-in restores your set to a freshly done appearance and gives you another 2 to 3 weeks of wear.

  • Apply cuticle oil daily to keep the skin around each nail healthy between appointments
  • Avoid picking at any small areas of lifting as this can pull up the natural nail underneath
  • Schedule your next fill-in before you leave the salon so you always have a spot reserved
  • Use gloves during tasks involving extended water exposure or harsh cleaning products

Acrylic Fill In FAQs

How do I know when it is time for a fill-in rather than a full new set?
A fill-in works well when your enhancement is still structurally sound, with no more than a couple of nails that have lifted or broken and with the existing product still at a healthy thickness. If you have gone more than 4 weeks without maintenance, if the set has significant lifting across multiple nails, or if the product has become very thick from previous fills, a full removal and fresh acrylic set is usually the better starting point.
Can I change my nail color at a fill-in appointment?
Yes, a color change is easy to include at your fill-in. Just mention it when you book or when you arrive. We remove the existing color after the fill product is shaped and apply your new choice before the finishing seal.
What if one nail has broken before my fill-in appointment?
A single broken nail can be addressed at your fill-in at no extra charge in most cases, or you can book a quick nail repair appointment to get it fixed sooner if the break is bothering you before your regular visit.
