Warm Foot Soak
A gentle, warm soak is prepared at a temperature that is comfortable for little feet. We invite the child to sit and relax and let the water soften their skin while we chat about what color they have in mind.

Nail Trim and Light Filing
Nails are trimmed to a safe, comfortable length and the edges are lightly smoothed. We keep this step calm and unhurried, and we always show children what we are doing before we do it.

Gentle Cuticle Tidy
Cuticles are gently pushed back only if needed. We do not use cutting implements on children's cuticles; a soft pusher and a little warmth from the soak are sufficient for keeping the nail area looking clean.

Light Lotion Rub
A small amount of gentle lotion is worked across the top of the foot and around each toe. Many kids love this part. We keep it brief and skip it entirely if a child prefers.

Color Application
The child's chosen color is applied with a base coat for protection and two coats of polish. We finish with a quick-dry topcoat and let them admire their new look. Glitter and fun accent colors are always popular.
Longevity and aftercareRegular polish on toes lasts 5 to 10 days for most children; toenail growth is slow so the style holds well between visits
- Allow polish to dry completely before putting on socks or closed shoes, about 20 minutes is ideal
- Quick-dry topcoat helps but is not instant, carrying open-toe sandals to the appointment is a good tip
- A light coat of kid-friendly lotion on the feet a few times a week keeps the skin from drying out between visits
